The family owned and run business in Kerala, India was started in the 1940's. This fourth generation family company prides itself on being in "Harmony with Nature" using renewable products such as Jute and Wool.
Jute is a long, soft vegetable fibre grown in the Gangetic Delta. It is renewable, bio-degradable and environment friendly. The plants are harvested annually by hand and the fibre is extracted from the bark of the plant after a soaking process.
It was such a privilege to visit Kerala and tour the factories, to meet the staff and workers. I can be very proud to say I've seen the factories and the conditions and can confidently say the Zebra Home rugs, runners and doormats are made ethically and with pride.
